Olympics Award Medals Across Seven Disciplines on Day Five

(MENAFN) On the fifth day of the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, medals were handed out in eight events spanning seven disciplines.

Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen claimed gold in the men’s super-G, earning his third Olympic title of the Games. American Ryan Cochran-Siegle took silver, and Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt won bronze.

In biathlon, France’s Julia Simon won gold in the women’s 15-kilometer individual race, with fellow French athlete Lou Jeanmonnot taking silver and Bulgaria’s Lora Hristova securing bronze.

Elizabeth Lemley of the United States earned gold in women’s freestyle skiing moguls, followed by American Jaelin Kauf with silver and France’s Perrine Laffont with bronze.

Norway’s Jens Luraas Oftebro captured gold in the Nordic combined individual 10-kilometer event, ahead of Austria’s Johannes Lamparter and Finland’s Eero Hirvonen.

Italy dominated luge doubles, with Andrea Voetter and Marion Oberhofer winning gold in the women’s event, while Emanuel Rieder and Simon Kainzwaldner took gold in the men’s doubles. Silver medals in the women’s and men’s doubles went to Germany and Austria respectively, and bronze was awarded to Austria in women’s doubles and Germany in men’s doubles.

American Jordan Stolz set an Olympic record to win gold in the men’s 1,000-meter speed skating race, with Jenning de Boo of the Netherlands earning silver and China’s Zhongyan Ning taking bronze.

In ice dance, the French pair Laurence Fournier Beaudry and Guillaume Cizeron won gold, followed by Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the United States with silver, and Canada’s Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier with bronze.

Other competitions on the day included curling, ice hockey, and snowboarding events.
